Know What to Build
Before You Build It.
Before you commit budget to a platform, product, AI initiative or transformation, get the problem, customer need, operating reality, systems, data, ownership and delivery dependencies into one decision-ready view.
Make the initiative ready to decide before it becomes expensive to change.
Experience across organizations including KPMG, AT&T, PepsiCo, Neiman Marcus, BNSF Railway, J.B. Hunt, and NASA.

From fragmented discovery to a fundable MVP in eight weeks.
While supporting BNSF Railway and J.B. Hunt's Quantum initiative inside the BNSF Fort Worth Innovation Center, I helped the Experience Design team move beyond screen execution into consulting-led product discovery. The work combined service blueprinting, systems blueprinting, and systems thinking to help stakeholders see how customer experience, operations, systems, data, and ownership connected across the full shipment lifecycle.
Mapped customer, employee, and operational workflows across the Quantum shipment lifecycle — connecting touchpoints to backstage systems and ownership.
Documented applications, data flows, integrations, reports, and system dependencies supporting the experience — surfacing hidden complexity.
Helped teams understand how changes in one part of the ecosystem affected customer outcomes, operations, and product strategy across the organization.

Bring the enterprise
into focus.
Every function sees an enterprise initiative through a different lens. Customer teams see the experience, operations sees the work, technology sees the systems, and leadership sees the outcomes.
Every view can be correct. None is complete.
The Holistic Enterprise Blueprint™ connects those perspectives — and, more importantly, the dependencies between them — so leadership can see what must change, what can be built, what will constrain it, who owns it, and what should be funded first.
The value isn't seeing seven things. It's seeing what depends on what.
- Align the organizationOne shared view across business, product, operations and technology.
- Clarify the investmentExpose dependencies, priorities, AI opportunities and what needs to happen first.
- Move toward executionTranslate the Blueprint into MVP definition, level of effort, team and roadmap.
Enterprise products break at the seams.
The screen is rarely the hard part. The risk lives between functions — and making those dependencies visible before they become delivery problems is what the Blueprint is for.
- Outcome unclear The team is delivering work without one measurable definition of success.
- Teams misaligned Business, product, operations, technology and data are solving different versions of the problem.
- Ownership ambiguous Accountability, decision rights and approvals are unclear.
- Dependencies hidden Systems, integrations, data, technical debt, workflow and organizational constraints surface too late.
- AI ahead of readiness AI is introduced before workflow, data, governance, risk and ownership are ready.
Before we fund this,
do we know?
The value isn't seeing seven things. It's seeing what depends on what — and being able to answer these before the money is committed.
- OutcomeThe result that would justify the investment.
- EvidenceWhat customers, operators and systems actually show.
- OwnerWho is accountable, who decides, where approvals stall.
- MVPWhat gets built first — and what does not.
- DependenciesWhat has to be true elsewhere before this can ship.
- RiskWhat could change the plan, including security and privacy.
- MeasuresBaselines set before the build, not after launch.
Every lens is considered; not every lens requires equal depth. AI is evaluated, not assumed — sometimes the right recommendation is not yet.
Know what to build. Then make the right future tangible.

Freight rail innovation, a reseller business model, and a national brand's first digital sales channel.
An 11-month engagement across product, sales, engineering, development and operations, determining how AT&T network services could be productized, sold and fulfilled through a reseller channel — producing the BuyFlow and API-enabled order visibility partners had never had.
Risk RemovedLaunching a reseller channel on products, systems and fulfillment processes built for direct sales.
View Case StudyScreens were being designed before anyone could see how the system connected across two companies, their teams, workflows and data. The Holistic Enterprise Blueprint™ produced an MVP definition leadership could fund.
Risk RemovedMajor development proceeding against assumptions about systems, ownership and cross-company capabilities that had not yet been validated.

Media Visionary is a senior-led enterprise consulting practice specializing in customer experience strategy, AI opportunity identification, service blueprinting, and digital transformation — built from real work inside complex organizations.
Before founding Media Visionary, JT Gordon worked inside KPMG Studio as a senior innovation and strategy consultant, where he helped shape the early product strategy, research and MVP foundation for the AI-security initiative that became Cranium.AI. He also created the curriculum and digital learning experience for KPMG's internal innovation incubator. Prior to KPMG, he led experience design work for AT&T, PepsiCo, Neiman Marcus, NASA, TruGreen, and a range of enterprise and growth organizations.
At BNSF Railway and J.B. Hunt's Quantum initiative, JT introduced a consulting-led discovery approach that combined service blueprinting, systems blueprinting, and systems thinking — helping stakeholders see how customer experience, operations, systems, data, and ownership connected across the full shipment lifecycle.
"The most important product decisions often happen before a screen is designed or a line of code is written. That's where customer evidence, business value, operational reality and technical constraints have to meet."JT Gordon — Founder, Media Visionary
JT leads the strategic work directly, and brings in specialists across research, product, design, engineering, analytics, AI and architecture when the initiative requires them. Each engagement is built around your organization's specific complexity, stakeholder dynamics, and strategic goals.
